The Story of a Mompreneur to-be | Queeny Bergen

Surrounding the theme of  “mom” for the month of May, we are featuring our second mompreneur in today’s blog post: Queeny Bergen. Queeny is expecting her first child next month in June and we thought it would be ideal to hear the story of a mompreneur to be. Read more on how Queeny is getting ready for baby while balancing work life.

Getting ready for the transition
It’s safe to say Queeny is a very hands-on person who manages different projects and passions so we are curious to know, how she is preparing for this transition of becoming a mompreneur.

Queeny tells us that in the first trimester of her pregnancy she was reading a lot and she was also focusing on getting as much information as possible and just educating herself. “I’m definitely a reader, so this time around it wasn’t any different”. My favorite reads so far have been: “The positive birth book”, which was recommended to me by a mom friend, I definitely recommend it. Birth stories can be quite scary  so this book prepares you for whatever comes in the most positive way. Other books that Queeny enjoyed reading were: “What to expect when you’re expecting”, “Expecting Better”, “The happiest baby on the block”, and “The shit no one tells you”.

In her second trimester she focused on being active and eating healthier and in her third trimester she focused on preparing the nursery, delegating tasks, and finalizing pending projects. Lastly, Queeny tells us that she has been taking it very easy these last few months, she has been resting a lot. “The one tip every mom gave me, was: sleep as much as possible Queeny!” So now she is trying to do less, and be more. It’s all about maintaining a healthy balance.

We asked: have there been any career changes so far?
Queeny says that at the beginning there were not any changes but as soon as she reached her third trimester, she started to feel more tired. Queeny tells us that “mommy brain” is also super real so she is not able to be as on point as she normally is which is why she needed to slow down a bit, take it easy, delegate as much as possible and try to keep all  meetings short and effective.

Lastly, we asked Queeny to share her top 3 tips for mompreneurs to be:
Queeny’s first tip is to stay active! (walk, swim, dance, or do some yoga), it’s important to keep moving. Her second tip is to listen to your body and relax when your body tells you to (even though she tells us she did not listen ?). Her last tip is to connect with other mommies and mommies to-be. You don’t have to go through the process alone, ask questions, exchange information, sharing is caring afterall especially for a mommy to be’s peace of mind.
